Jewish Family & Children's Service of Greater Boston (JF&CS) invites you to apply for our position of Autism Exercise and Wellness Coordinator.

JF&CS is looking for a candidate to work off-site at Voice Colors -- a health and wellness program designed for individuals on the autistic spectrum. Voice Colors primarily serves a young man on the autism spectrum but there is opportunity for small group work with peers from other JF&CS programs. This individual is an artist and physical fitness/yoga enthusiast. Activities may be 1:1 or include a small group of peers. Voice Colors facilities include a large gym, yoga space, music area, art studio and more.

Voice Colors mission is to provide people on the autistic spectrum opportunities to learn, develop, and cultivate independent self-expression grounded in social relationships. ABOUT THE ROLE:

The candidate will work primarily with an adult on the Autism Spectrum in a variety of activities including: Yoga, Pilates, gym workouts, bar work, walks and other wellness activities on his daily schedule. The individual will participate directly in the activities and learn how to teach individuals with Autism by implementing visual learning systems.

There is flexibility relative to hours and days worked but seeking a regular commitment to a specific weekly schedule. The individual will work closely with a person very experienced in the autism field and work with other staff involved in the program. The candidate will be a JF&CS employee, but will also work closely with the individual's family and Voice Colors staff.

The Autism Exercise and Wellness Coordinator role comes with the following Benefits:

ABOUT YOU:

Qualified applicants should be:

• A Bachelor's Degree is required
• Comfortable teaching 1:1 or in a small group setting
• Open to working in a collaborative environment
• Enthusiastic about learning new ideas and trying different approaches
• Computer competent and have a solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Prior experience working with people with disabilities is not required
