- Every Thursday (9:30am-2:00pm) plus occasional Tuesdays (9:30am-2:00pm), plus two Sundays per month (7:30am-1:00pm) OR
- Every Thursday (9:30am-2:00pm) plus occasional Tuesdays (9:30am-2:00pm) OR
- Two Sundays per month (7:30am-1:00pm)
Are you looking for a way to be part of a great team that is helping people who are food insecure? In this part-time role, you will help with food pantry tasks, such as stocking food, directing volunteers, and assisting clients who visit our food pantry. The schedule might work well for someone who has kids in school, a recent empty nester, or someone who has another part-time job.
The mission of Family Table is to end hunger in the Greater Boston Jewish community while serving those who need our assistance, regardless of religious affiliation.Family Table fulfills its mission by providing Kosher food, creating a caring Jewish connection, and empowering people to make healthy eating a part of their daily lives.
Position Summary:
The Family Table Food Pantry Distribution Assistant works with other team members to prepare for and facilitate food pantry distributions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work with other staff at the Family Table food distributions. Duties include directing volunteers, stocking food and facilitating clients as they visit the pantry. Location may vary by month to include either Waltham, Canton, or Marblehead.
- Facilitate positive interactions with and experiences for Family Table volunteers and clients.
- Participate in regular team meetings, agency events, and trainings, as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- The ability to routinely lift and stack multiple 30-50 lb. boxes is required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Energetic and a team player.
- Must have own vehicle and a valid driver's license.
