About CHAI Disability Services Internship:

JF&CS's CHAI Disability Services division offers an internship experience that includes working with adults and children within a range of service delivery modalities and clinical profiles. JF&CS helps people of all faiths and races, reflecting our foundational values of social justice. We have long cultivated a stance of cultural humility and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.  

There is the opportunity to gain a wide range of experiences in both group and 1:1 setting, based on your personal interests! Opportunities can include: 

• Working with adults diagnosed with mental illness, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and/or developmental disability. 
• Clinical modalities used include motivational interviewing, social casework, psychoeducation, supportive counseling, needs assessment, and more. 
• Providing individual case management in the community (Greater Boston area) and in a group residential setting to help clients achieve stabilization and help with longer term mental health recovery and independent living skills. 
• Case management work includes helping clients to achieve self-identified goals related to skill building around executive functioning, symptom management, independent living, accessing public benefits, housing, medical/mental health providers, vocational supports, among other need areas. 
• Coordination and collaboration with other JF&CS programs and external service providers, as well as with family and guardians
• Group work with adults with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and/or autism spectrum disorder within a day-program and a residential setting, and within social programming for children.  
• Participation in team meetings, maintaining clinical record documentation, daily progress notes, services plans and goal assessments. 

What we offer: 

• Paid stipend of up to $2,400 per internship year
• Field placement supervision by an LICSW
• Travel reimbursement for client visits.
• Access to training and agency-wide intern seminar program

Requirements for the Internship:

• Applicants must have a car and a clean driving record and/or the ability to travel to different community locations to provide case management.
• Meet with clients in-person and virtually.
• Onboarding process includes TB test, medical physical and relevant background checks (CORI, SORI and fingerprint check)
