Position Summary:
The JF&CS Center for Early Relationship Support (CERS) is hiring a part-time Family Resource Coordinator. The Family Resource Coordinator provides direct services and support to all staff and volunteers that are accessing needed resources for families enrolled in CERS services. This includes making referrals to community organizations, understanding eligibility and access to public/private benefits and resources, and overseeing client assistance funds and other resources.
The Family Resource Coordinator is a vital member of the CERS team by providing personalized outreach and referrals, collaborating with state and community partners, and supporting CERS staff and clients to identify appropriate options and engage in the step by step process to navigate systems to apply and attain meaningful resources.
This position offers flexibility to work from home and out of our Waltham Office.
Essential Job Functions:
Case Management:
- Consult with CERS staff and clients needing support in accessing resources in their community.
- Track clients' statuses, milestones, and progress.
- Develop and implement personalized service plans based on specific client goals.
Outreach, Referral and Collaboration:
- Facilitate connections and provide tailored referrals for clients to access critical services and resources, including housing, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
- Advocate for clients to ensure timely access to essential services.
- Serve as a liaison to other JF&CS services and organizations in the community.
- Build relationships and enhance communication with community organizations.
Client Advocacy and Support:
- Research and share information about government and community resources.
- Offer guidance and crisis intervention to help clients overcome barriers.
- Ensure services are culturally and linguistically appropriate for each client.
Administrative Duties:
- Oversight of Client Assistance Fund (CAF) and related funds for diapers and other goods, including distribution and procedures
- Maintain detailed and accurate case files, documenting all interactions and services provided. Prepare reports on client outcomes and program effectiveness as required.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and confidentiality standards.
- Supervision of resource and support staff, as assigned.

Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bilingual, English and Spanish
- Bachelor's degree in social work, education or related field, or significant experience related to the position.
- Applicant should able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to cultural competency.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Power Point) and willingness to learn and use technology for documentation and communication
- Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or unhoused populations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated proactivity and adaptability to navigate changes and address unforeseen challenges effectively.
